$80 flat diagnostic, credited toward the repair

Customer reviews

What owners said after the visit

Rated 4.6 out of 5 across all 64 reviews published on this site.

An open stainless refrigerator column with its interior light on and its lower drawers extended, a technician standing to one side of it in a bright kitchen with pale cabinetry.
The call, as the customer saw it

Every entry here is one owner describing one visit: what the cabinet was doing, what turned out to be wrong once the panel came off, and how the call ended. They are published with a first name and a last initial, which is as much as anyone agreed to have sitting on a public page.

How should you read the number?

The 4.6 above is the plain arithmetic mean of all 64 published reviews, not of the 12 printed below. Every one of the 64 is readable somewhere on this site, beside the repair or the neighbourhood it belongs to. The stars fall like this:

Every published review, counted by the stars it carries.
Stars Reviews
5 star 43
4 star 17
3 star 4

Why are the low ones still here?

Because a wall of fives tells a reader nothing. The four-star notes are mostly about a part that had to be ordered or a job that needed a second call; the three-star ones are about waiting, and about not being warned up front how long a part would take. They are taken into the selection below first, ahead of anything else, and they are worth reading first too.

Loretto Cold Service works Sub-Zero refrigeration only, in Mandarin and the riverfront around it, within 25 miles. The published price bands are on the what it costs page and the number to call is on the contact page.

The ice maker had stopped filling and I assumed the whole unit was finished. He checked the inlet screen first and it was solid with scale off our water. Cleaned, tested, and the harvest cycle came back.

The mould filled and then simply sat there. He showed me the harvest cycle failing, ordered the part against the plate rather than from a photograph, and came back when he said he would.

A straight answer that the machine was fine and the water reaching it was not, which saved me a part I did not need. Booking the return slot took longer than I wanted, though the work itself was quick.

He diagnosed the drawer unit correctly and the repair is holding, but the whole thing dragged out because the part arrived wrong the first time. Good work in the end, frustrating in the middle of it.

Ice was building around the drawers inside the freezer column. The vent port feeding the stack was blocked. He cleared it, checked how the door landed, and told me what to watch for next summer.

    Tobias C.May 2026

  • 4 out of 5

The freezer side was fine, the fresh food side sat warm, and the air out of the vent was barely moving. He found the damper linkage snapped and replaced it, then explained why the fan was blameless.

Warm at the top of the column and cold at the bottom. He talked me through what that pattern usually means before opening anything, which made the written estimate easy to follow.

    Malachy R.April 2026

He told us the compressor was starting and stopping within seconds, and what that meant for the cost, before writing anything down. We went ahead and it has held its setting ever since.

    Beatrix M.March 2026

  • 4 out of 5

The compressor was hot to the touch and the freezer was soft. He confirmed a restriction rather than a leak, and was candid that the work is long and the cabinet is old. We went ahead and it has run since.

Three weeks waiting on a part, and that was genuinely frustrating. He had warned me it would be ordered against the serial rather than carried on the van, so at least it was never a surprise.

The bar unit on the porch side struggled all summer and was perfectly happy by November. He measured the clearance around it and showed me the warm exhaust it had been breathing back in.

One drawer was freezing lettuce solid while the one above it behaved. The sensor in that compartment had drifted. Replaced, tested through a full cycle, and no more frozen salad since.

Questions we are asked

What people ask about these reviews

Where are the other 52 reviews?
On the pages they belong to. A repair page quotes the owners who called about that fault and a street page quotes the people who live there, which is more use than a single long list. The average above is taken from all 64 of them, not from the 12 printed here.
How is the average worked out?
It is the plain arithmetic mean of the stars on all 64 published reviews, rounded to one decimal, and it is recomputed whenever the pool changes. It is not carried over from anywhere else and it is not the average of a set that nobody can read.
Can a review tell me what my repair will cost?
No. The $80 flat diagnostic is credited toward the work, and everything after it depends on what the readings find. That part is put in writing before anything is ordered. The published bands are on the what it costs page.
